The Netherlands Ministry of Defence has announced the signing of a contract for 785 logistical trucks with the Italian company IDV (Iveco Defence Vehicles).
The vehicles are to be delivered in three variants , 588 trucks will be equipped with a hook-lift system, another 100 will be semitrailer tractors capable of transporting heavy vehicles like the upcoming Leopard 2A8, and lastly, the remaining 97 trucks will be recovery vehicles.
According to IDV, they will be either with protected or unprotected cabins. The contract also includes integrated logistical support for a minimum period of 15 years, and the Netherlands has included an option to procure a further 785 vehicles.
Deliveries are to commence in 2027 and are to be completed in 2029.
