Czechia purchases British Supacat for its Special Forces

The Czech Ministry of Defense has announced the procurement of 18 Supacat Extenda 6×6 light armoured vehicles for its Army Special Forces.

The vehicles will enable the replacement of the ageing Land Rover fleet and increase the logistical capabilities, supplementing the Tatra trucks currently in use.

The Czech Army had previously run a feasibility study in 2020-21 in which 14 vehicles from 9 manufacturers were evaluated, in it the Supacat came out on top as the best fit for the Special Forces set of requirements.

The cost of the 18 vehicles will be 32.6 million pounds (~€37.5M), they will also be delivered by LPP, the company being the exclusive supplier of the Supacat in Czechia.

The Military Technical Institute (VTÚ) will also conduct a technical evaluation of the vehicles at the cost of 33 million euros. This will include the integration of weaponry, communications equipment and other systems.
